Mute Records is the label home of Depeche Mode and Alan Wilder's Recoil project amongst many others. Non UK artists represented include NON, Laibach and Einsturzende Neubauten.
The Mute site is a fabulous gateway to a wealth of artists websites and is highly recommended.

Cryonica Music is an exciting new label (formed in 2000) focusing on Innovative Electro-Industrial Music.
The first release on Cryonica was the double CD sampler CRYONICA TANZ v.1.
The label currently looks after UK bands Inertia, Void Construct and Man(i)kin.

Label home for a host of ground breaking artists during the Eighties.
The hall of fame included;
Psychic TV and Cabaret Voltaire.
The label is probably best known for the highly successful, influential, electronic duo Soft Cell.

Wasp Factory Recordings


Wasp Factory are a genuinely independent record company, moving in the many grey areas where traditional rock band shapes meet electronica head on in one way or another. The line-up includes;
The Chaos Engine, Arkam Asylum, Skinflowers, D.U.S.T, Swarf, Tarantella Serpentine, Freudstein and Exitboy.

Some History


There are a couple of labels that are now defunct but deserve a mention.

Industrial Records. The label formed by Throbbing Gristle and partly responsible for the genre tag.


Cyber-Tec Records. At one point home to the shining stars of the new industrial scene (circa 1995)
Artists included K-Nitrate, Crisis NTI, Electro Assassin and the Cyber-Tec Project which evolved into C-Tec.
